Beltane arrives next week in all its Spring glory and I’m looking forward to putting up my stag skull, the fun of trick-or-treating and my own quiet Beltane celebrations.
Thanks for an interesting read. You should be aware your 'may bush' picture at the end isn't May, it looks more like crab apple (which doubtless has its own tales)
Thanks for reading, Paul and for reminding me I needed to change that image. I'd produced it with AI and was getting frustrated with it displaying crab-apples instead of hawthorn, so I went with it, thinking I'd get back to it, then promptly forgot. I've redone it now, it's not great, but it will do in a pinch. I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and you're right about crab-apples. I wrote a section about crab-apples in Episode 34 - Autumn and the Hedgerow Harvest - https://wheelandcross.substack.com/p/autumn-and-the-hedgerow-harvest. All the best!
Thanks Paul! Our spring starts in September here in Australia, our autumn starts in March with winter starting 1 June. It's been an unseasonably (and unnervingly) hot autumn though I remember the spring being glorious. Glad your May is the same!

Thanks genevieve, I approve the new pic! Hasn't the may been glorious this year!
